How does it work?
Parcel dimensioning is available for premium mobile computers that feature a time-of-flight (ToF) camera which is available in the Zebra TC53 and TC58 models. A mobile dimensioning application comes pre-installed on supported models to demonstrate how a line-ofbusiness (LOB) application can use the outputs from the mobile dimensioning framework.
The resolution for dimension results is 0.1 cm for metric
Smallest parcel: 10cm
Largest parcel: 120cm
Requirement: flat surface, non-black wrap, non-reflective, non-transparent, non-flats or envelopes, irregular shapes
The Certified Mobile ParcelĀ
This solution isĀ legal for tradeĀ in applicable regulatory geographies, enabling Zebra customers to charge their own customers based on the certified accuracy of the dimensions captured.Ā
Non-Certified Parcel Dimensioning
The non-certifiedĀ version of the mobile dimensioning client has the same level of accuracy butĀ is notĀ ālegal for tradeā. A non-certified solution cannot be upgraded to certified as initial type approval is a factory operation.
API
The mobile dimensioning client application is typically integrated with Line of Business applications through a set of APIs, making dimensioning capture similar for a user to the reading of a barcode with the resulting data automatically consumed by the connected applications without transcription error.
